Management Team

Chris May, CEO
Chris is the CEO of IE Discovery, Inc. and brings more than 18 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing Discovery Management solutions. He is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of IE Discovery. Under Chris’ leadership, IE Discovery has remained consistently profitable. In addition to the expansion of IE Discovery, Chris oversaw the introduction of numerous and innovative litigation support products and services such as InfoDox®, the first web-enabled discovery management solution designed specifically for the demand-driven litigation environment.

During his time with IE Discovery, Chris has successfully led corporate strategy efforts during dynamic changes in the electronic discovery industry and positioned the company for long-term success. He brings extensive technology, entrepreneurial management, and Fortune 500 consulting expertise to his position. He is a hands-on CEO and has consulted with corporations and government agencies including Amtrak, United States Navy, United States Army, UnitedHealthcare, and Solutia, Inc.

Chris is a thought leader in the eDiscovery industry. He is a member of the Sedona Conference® and actively participates in the DESI (Discovery of Electronically Stored Information) workshops which bring together scientists, academics, and lawyers to discuss eDiscovery issues. Chris has published in numerous trade journals, including Digital Discovery & E-Evidence, Litigation Support Today, and E-Discovery Law & Strategy. Additionally, Chris lectures on important legal technology topics such as optimizing electronic discovery technology and process solutions. Chris has spoken at DESI, ARMA, ILTA, and IQPC events and IE Discovery’s Electronic Discovery Symposium for Government Agencies.


Bill Detamore, CFO
Bill joined IE Discovery in 2001 and currently serves as the CFO and Director of Business Development, designing cost-effective Discovery Management solutions for the company’s clientele. Bill focuses his legal expertise and technological aptitude on overcoming eDiscovery challenges and fine-tuning the legal business process.

An attorney with complex commercial litigation experience, Bill came to IE Discovery from Tulsa-based Gable & Gotwals, where he represented clients in a variety of industries including banking, energy, and insurance. Bill helps clients resolve complex disputes and has appeared in state and federal courts as well as various ADR proceedings.

Bill has authored numerous articles on legal, technology, and law department management issues. A frequent speaker at CLEs and industry trade shows, Bill graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma with a Juris Doctor degree. He also holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas. Bill is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Oklahoma, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.


Chris Knox, CIO
With extensive project and resource management experience, Chris serves as the Chief Information Officer of IE Discovery.  He is responsible for Information Services, Application Development and Tactical Operations.  These roles include oversight of IT expenditures, technical architecture, platform development and production operations.

Chris is responsible for IE Discovery’s ISO 9001:2008 certification and assurance of the ongoing quality management system.  He is currently helping to lead the charge for industry-wide quality-based standards.  He has authored multiple well-received articles on the topic and has presented at several industry gatherings.  He regularly leads CLEs on a wide range of Information Governance topics.

Chris’ previous experience includes management of a PMO and professional services concentrated on the mining and modeling of structured data systems.  He has direct experience consulting Fortune 500 organizations on their ERP and data collection solutions.

He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Texas as well as an M.B.A. (with honors) from Syracuse University.


Pat McColloch, Director, Client Services
Responsible for IE Discovery’s service delivery to all clients, Pat possesses more than 20 years of experience in managing discovery, litigation, and enforcement support solutions. The Project Managers in Pat’s team are responsible for ensuring exceptional consulting and delivery services throughout each stage of the discovery management cycle.

Pat has directed automated litigation support services on cases of all sizes, covering a wide variety of subject matter including environmental and labor workforce disputes, as well as complex contracts litigation. He holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. His speaking and CLE engagements have covered topics such as legal project management, electronic metadata, eDiscovery, working with structured data, and litigation support solutions.
