Custom eDiscovery Solutions
With IE Discovery’s Custom eDiscovery Solutions, we can adjust the speed, timeliness, and quality of each deliverable to meet court deadlines, government specifications, or various regulatory requirements. We have the flexibility and resources to meet high-priority deadlines that cannot be met within standard throughput timeframes or with standard “out-of-the-box” software solutions. We also apply extensive subject matter expertise in analyzing, normalizing, identifying anomalies, and linking data from various sources of medical claims, insurance eligibility, health care administration, and billing.
IE Discovery also provides consultative services throughout the life of a case to aid in data management, analysis, and manipulation. We understand the tips, tools, and tricks within common PC software that aid in transferring and manipulating data between the client and the Project Manager. We can develop data templates that streamline the incorporation of external data into existing tables and custom data structures.
IE Discovery can also design, configure, and implement solutions to data management needs where an automated process cannot satisfy custom requirements. We provide long-term data strategies that expose future issues, determine the depths of limitations, and evaluate the risks through early case assessment. We also support trial efforts by providing a desktop Access database that increases accessibility to key data and files while reducing the complexity of moving data between disparate eDiscovery software and production management tools.
Document Management and Production Customization
Through our Document Management and Production Customization service, IE Discovery provides highly flexible custom production solutions under tight timeframes. Depending on your needs, we can vary the levels of customization, including selection, sorting, file/page format, output select, specific data fields, and directory structure. We provide highly customizable support materials for trial, including deposition prep binders, exhibit compilations, summary reports, or reference databases. We can also create and maintain records of trial exhibits for quick reference and compile comprehensive production history records to allow for comparison and verification.
IE Discovery also works with clients to customize the extraction of collected data to include specific fields with custom formats to display data, along with custom databases or spreadsheets for transferring the data to meet the recipient’s software constraints. For example, depending on your needs, we can create date formats to show your preferred variation in display of month, day, year, time, day of week, etc. We can extract numbers as they were imported, or we can manipulate those numbers to show a calculated value with a custom display of decimal places and accounting formats. We can provide data in various formats including as a comma-separated file, spreadsheet, MS Access database table, or a specific database format.
Our Document Management and Production Customization service can design, configure, and implement solutions to assist with management of document reviews, including document flow and QC. We can load data and documents to an existing eDiscovery tool that cannot be added using standard methods, such as data from multiple sources or data that was provided post-load that needs to be linked to or replace existing data such as data updates.
Custom Data Analysis
IE Discovery’s Custom Data Analysis service can perform research analysis that cannot be completed with the standardized search criteria available within many common eDiscovery platforms. This includes: advanced criteria and term hit reports and analysis; reviewer metrics and performance analysis; trending in term searches performed by specific users; and summary statistics of structured data results, such as billed amounts by claim type. We can also provide custom reports that pull data from multiple databases and server sources and utilize more complex criteria.
Our experienced team can analyze structured data within several database formats. We can also investigate and analyze structured data within third-party databases and software packages. We have the ability to create custom and standardized solutions to deduplication needs that expand industry-leading tools like Equivio and IPRO. This includes automatically eliminating duplicates on a family level to reduce the volume of documents for review in a defensible process, instead of just document-to-document comparison. We routinely identify near-duplicate document families for review that are likely candidates for deduplication and group near-duplicate families into logical review sets to streamline document review.
Software Customizations
IE Discovery’s Software Customizations team designs, implements, and maintains data solutions that integrate with and extend legal review platforms such as InfoDox® and Relativity®. This enables the identification and storage of data or files that do not fit within a traditional eDiscovery model. For example, we can integrate disparate discovery data from multiple sources such as medical claims, HCFA, and payroll data into one unified report. We can also create custom browse trees within legal review platforms that simplify the relationship between existing data, custom data and nest-related data, while building custom navigation to your most pertinent data.
IE Discovery can also develop custom forms that provide a comprehensive view of related data from different data tables displayed in a single view. This allows for easy navigation between forms using strategic hyperlinking. Links can open document images, natives, and text available from the custom form. Our Software Customizations team can create stored procedures that organize, manipulate, and identify significant data for a predetermined time period without additional human interaction to start or complete the process.
Document Administration
Through our Document Administration service we offer page and document-level manipulation of images in preparation for loading into a repository or for production. This includes clipping, resizing, rotating, and rearranging pages within documents; converting images to an industry-acceptable or software-specific format; removing extraneous pages from existing images, such as a cover sheet; and creating new documents by merging pages from others into a single new document. Our team can create automated processes to remove extraneous and repeated text in the header/footer of a text file and create automated processes to extract specific text from spreadsheets, databases, text, and other file types.
